a 4-part advent sermon series in John 1

John doesn’t have a nativity account. Instead he introduces us to Jesus in the first chapter of his gospel using four titles. Each title reveals something distinct about who Jesus is and why he was born. John tells us he writes so that we might believe in Jesus and have eternal life (20:31). These four titles help us see why we should believe in Jesus and how he is able to give us eternal life. They reveal what makes Christmas special and why we have reasons to rejoice all year round. Join us in the run up to Christmas as we respond to Philip’s invitation to ‘come and see’ (v46).
