When fear grips us we can be overtaken by anxiety, fixing us to the spot or making us run in the opposite direction. Fear is a normal human emotion, but how we deal with it changes every part of our lives.

Writing from a Roman prison cell, the apostle Paul writes to Christians in the ancient city of Philippi, knowing that choosing to follow Jesus then was daunting. Sharing from his own experience and the life of Jesus, Paul shows what confidence to face our fears looks like in the Christian life.

Following Jesus today is still as daunting as it was then. Join us as we go on a three week journey with Paul to understand how we can face the Christian life with sufficient, shared, humble courage.

'I eagerly expect and hope that I will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.' (Philippians 1:20-21)
