“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11
As 2019 comes to a close, it seems harder than ever to find a leader worth following. In a recent survey, the leaders of every major political party in the UK each received a negative net approval rating from voters. A leader worth following, who can find?
Our three Sunday mornings in John 10 at the dawning of 2020 provide us with an opportunity to reflect on the wonderful news that Jesus is the true and great “Shepherd” who selflessly gives up his own life to save all who trust him and listen to his voice.
By announcing “I am the Good Shepherd”, Jesus assures us of his extraordinarily tender care for every single one of his people, the security of the salvation found in Him, and also reminds us why He is a leader truly worth following. Join us at the start of this new year as we think together about what it means to live as one of Jesus’ “sheep”.
