We have only been on the Warndon Villages since July 1995 but our roots are in the City of Worcester.
In 1882, the church began as a meeting arranged by railwaymen with services being held in the Guardroom at Shrub Hill Station before moving to East Street in the centre of Worcester.
With growth in the mid 1980’s hindering the scope of church activities, Sunday morning worship was moved to a local school at Rose Hill.
The hunt was on for larger premises but in the end land on the Warndon Villages was offered to us at a price that clearly showed God’s hand to be in a move and so we committed ourselves to building the facilities we now have and which were opened in 1995. From the sacrificial giving of members of the church and other interested friends we now have excellent facilities to reach out into the community and beyond.
We are an independent church in the sense that we do not belong to a denomination but along with over 500 other churches in the UK we are affiliated to the F.I.E.C (Fellowship of Independent Churches).
Following continued growth, Woodgreen started a new work on the other side of the river in 2000 which again met in a local school. Manor Park Evangelical Church is now established as an independent church also affiliated to FIEC and continues to grow as God does his work there.
